In the event of a power cut it is essential that you have power back in the form of an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS). This is very often overlooked but from a single workstation to a small network we will have a UPS that is perfect for your requirements.

Here at Castle Computers we stock UPS devices from Compaq, HP and APC. We also supply replacement batteries. All our refurbished UPS’s come with new batteries so you can be assured that they will be as good as new. We also supply them in custom built boxes to offer the best possible protection during transit.

Types of UPS

In essence there are 5 different types of UPS systems, each with their own specific characteristics and advantages. The most common are as follows:

Standby UPS

This UPS system would most like be used for workstations. The low price, tiny size and high efficiency of this UPS system are the main benefits.

Line Interactive UPS

Line Interactive UPS is most commonly used in small business, web and departmental services. High efficiency, small size, low cost and high reliability couple with the ability to correct low or high line voltage conditions make this the dominant type of UPS in the 0.5-5kVA power range.

Double Conversion On-line UPS

Double Conversion On-line UPS is the most used UPS above 10kVA. The electrical output performance of this UPS is almost ideal. However, there is wear on the electrical components which reduces reliability of other designs
